Cailin Alainn

Cailin Alainn ran a cracker to chase home Scotsirish in the Hilly Way Chase at Cork. She would have been third, in fairness, had Wanango not fallen at the last, but she still kept on well over a distance that would have been too sharp for her, although the fast pace would have helped a lot. She jumped well bar the first down the back straight, where she got in a little tight, put she improved nicely towards the end of the back straight to take a nice position just behind the leaders. She couldn’t quicken with the speedier types Scotsirish and Wanango from the top of the home straight, but she kept on really well, past Schindlers Hunt and Newmill and Tumbling Dice, and came clear of them over the last two fences. There could be a decent staying handicap chase in her yet.
