Hurricane Fly

It’s not original, but watching Hurricane Fly quicken away from his rivals in the Paddy Power Future Champion Novice Hurdle made the hairs stand up on the back of my neck. There may not have been too many future champions behind him, and the time was not sensational, but sometimes you just have to trust your eyes, and this performance looked exceptional. The son of Montjeu was good enough to beat subsequent Group 1 winners Literato and Spirit One over a mile on the flat. He is a classy individual who has the potential to go right to the top over hurdles. Even though he is only just turning five, there has to be a chance that Mullins will allow him take his chance in the Champion Hurdle, given that he has Cousin Vinny, Mikael D’Haguenet, Quiscover Fountaine and Apt Approach among his novices. You can get 30/1 about him on Betfair for the Champion, and that is interesting.
