Palavicini

Palavicini is worth another chance after he finished sixth behind Class Is Class in a listed 10-furlong race at Goodwood on Monday. He travelled well in behind, but the pace was stop-start and he couldn’t get a gap when he needed one, he was trapped on the rail as the race developed on the near side and by the time he was able to pull wide, it was far too late. He did run on well, giving the impression that he had plenty more left to give, and he is much better than this. He is at his best off a true end-to-end gallop, and he can be seen to much better effect when he gets it. Goodwood probably isn’t his track anyway, he disappointed in a Group 3 race there last September, all his best performances have been at tracks with long home straights, Newbury, York, Newmarket. This 10-furlong trip is good for him, and he remains of interest.
