Kissable

Kissable put in a good effort to finish third in the fillies’ Group 3 Silver Flash Stakes at Leopardstown on Thursday. Kevin Prendergast’s filly raced in midfield throughout and travelled well as they began their turn for home. She got checked at the top of the home straight, just as she was beginning her challenge, so she had to be switched and pulled wide by Chris Hayes. Once she got clear, she finished well to take third.

Although Kissable was unlucky here, she probably wouldn’t have beaten the winner Together, but that filly is a short price for next year’s 1000 Guineas, and Kissable would probably have finished second with a clear passage. The daughter of Danehill Dancer looks interesting now, the form of her maiden win has held up well, the filly who finished fifth, Aidan O’Brien’s Inca Princess, won her maiden well at Fairyhouse last week. Kissable is out of Kitty O’Shea, who raced only twice in her career for Ballydoyle, winning both times, including a six-length defeat of Jim Bolger’s Tropical Lady in a listed race at The Curragh. She is also a half-sister to Kingdom Of Munster, who was a fairly smart juvenile for Aidan O’Brien. This was only Kissable’s third run and this looked like a fairly hot Group 3, she should improve. She could be good enough to be a Moyglare Stud Stakes filly, all three of her races to date have been over the Moyglare distance and she may be even better on easier ground, which is not a bad thing in the context of the Moyglare, given that it is often run on easy ground.
