Kissable

Kissable put in a nice performance in finishing fourth in a listed race at Listowel on Wednesday. Settled well back in the field early on by Declan McDonogh, who had ridden the first two winners on the day, she travelled well for much of the way. She probably wasn’t advantaged by being ridden out the back at a track and at a meeting at which it was usually of benefit to race handily, but she ran on well, all the way to the line, despite the fact that it never looked likely that she would catch the all-the-way winner What A Charm. She handled this easy ground well (hardly surprising, given that she is by Danehill Dancer) and she stayed the trip well (again, hardly surprising with Leger winners and Derby winners and Park Hill winners in her pedigree). She was a high class juvenile last year, she was only beaten a length by Misty For Me in the Group 1 Moyglare Stud Stakes on her final run of the season. She has had niggly little problems reportedly this year, but this performance suggests that she is at least close to re-discovering her juvenile form, and she will be of interest wherever she goes next, especially if the ground remains easy.
