I do like Father Time, and he is value at 16/1. Cecil has won this race six times, and two of those winners prepped for it in the Listed Fairway Stakes, the race in which Father Time finished second to Palavicini on his latest start. That race wasn’t run to suit Father Time at all. They went no gallop in the early stages, then Father Time was caught flat-footed as they quickened before he stayed on again towards the end. The step up in distance to a mile and a half is bound to suit, as is the likely faster pace today.
