Welcome to Donn McClean Racing

If, like Donn, you are an avid horse racing fan, or if you just want to learn and know more about the sport, then you have come to the right place! There is plenty to read in the pages of this site, including a selection of Donn’s columns and feature articles from the Sunday Times, the Irish Field and Sporting Life. Also highlighted are some of Donn’s thoughts on horses to follow over the coming weeks and months.

If betting is your thing, you might be interested in Donn’s Bets, a subscription service limited to 50 Private Clients which details Donn’s thoughts and recommended bets every Saturday and every other day when there is racing on terrestrial television, as well as his ante post advice. Clients have made a significant net profit since the service went live in 2009. Feel free to visit this page if you are interested in finding out more.

A presenter and analyst on Racing TV, Donn has ghost-written six racing autobiographies, most recently that of the recently-retired jockey Davy Russell, one of the most talented National Hunt jockeys ever. Donn also worked on his autobiography with the late and greatly missed Pat Smullen, nine-time champion jockey and one of the greatest Irish jockeys, and with Sir Anthony McCoy, 20-time champion and the most successful National Hunt jockey of all time.

Donn has also ghost-written three other racing autobiographies – Better Than Sex, the autobiography of former top National Hunt jockey and now racing broadcaster Mick Fitzgerald, Moscow Flyer, with trainer Jessica Harrington, and Riding the Storm, Timmy Murphy’s autobiography – and he has worked with leading racing photographer Pat Healy on the Healy Racing books Thrills and Spills and Flat Out.
