We had Dark Shift on side in the Victoria Cup at Ascot in April, but it turned out that he was drawn on the wrong side, and he did well to get as close as he did.  Since then, he has come out and won a good one-mile handicap at Nottingham impressively.

He has to carry a 5lb penalty for that win, which is not ideal, but the handicapper has raised him by 7lb, so he is actually 2lb well-in today.  He has good course form, and he is probably better over a mile than he is over seven furlongs.  The booking of James McDonald is a great booking, and he will have options from stall 15.
