Repaupo

He did well to finish second in the 7f novices’ stakes, after he was fairly badly impeded at the start when Al Fajir Mukbile cannoned into him. He looked a likely winner too, he made nice ground on the far side and was delivered by Rab Havlin with what looked like a race-winning run, only for Turjomaan to pick up well on the near side and get up to beat him by a head.

It was still a fine run by Repaupo, he picked up smartly himself, and that was after shipping that bump at the start, with the first two finishing nicely clear. This was his racecourse debut too, he could progress significantly for it. He should win his maiden without too much fuss, although it wouldn’t be a surprise if trainer John Gosden stepped him up in grade now even without winning his maiden. A half-brother to Fillies’ Mile and Matron Stakes winner Rainbow View, he holds an entry in the Dewhurst Stakes and in the Racing Post Trophy.
