Carlo Biraghi

Carlo Biraghi was impressive in winning the 2m juveniles’ maiden hurdle on his hurdling debut. He travelled well just behind the leaders, he moved up nicely to hit the front on the run to the final flight, and he cleared away to win impressively. It wasn’t a bad looking juveniles’ maiden hurdle beforehand, and the first four in the market filled the next four places behind him.

This was Fozzy Stack’s horse’s hurdling debut, and it was just his fourth run under all codes. Winner of his maiden on his racecourse debut over 10f at The Curragh last May, his third and latest run on the flat was in the Irish Derby in June. By Galileo out of a Tiger Hill mare who was rated 102 on the flat, he is a talented individual and he should do even better as he gains in experience and becomes more fluent over his hurdles. He could be an interesting contender for some of the top juvenile hurdles in the spring.
