Outback Heat
Noted after his excellent run in the Britannia at Royal Ascot, when he could have been marked up significantly on the bare form of the run, Outback Heat is worthy of note again after his run in the Sky Bet Mile at York on Friday. Dropped in towards the rear early on by Kaiya Fraser from his wide draw, he was still well back in the field with a bank of horses in front of him passing the three-furlong marker. He travelled well to that point though, and he picked up when his rider asked him to, making up ground through traffic and, moved towards the outside inside the final furlong, keeping on well to take fourth place, beaten by the bob of a head by Krasimir for third.
This was another smart performance from Harry Eustace's horse, probably another career-best, on just his fifth run. All five runs have been over a mile, but there is lots of stamina in his pedigree, he is a half-brother to stayer Circuit Breaker, his dam, a half-sister to shock Juddmonte International winner Arabian Queen, won over a mile and six and a half furlongs, and his grandam is dual Lancashire Oaks winner Barshiba. He should be able to step up to 10 furlongs at least, and he will be of particular interest if and when he returns to Ascot, where he has won once and run really well in the Britannia in just two visits.
