Tumbling In

Tumbling In was impressive in winning the mares' hurdle at Listowel last Sunday. Her jumping was a little untidy through the early part of the race, but she warmed to her task well. She moved to the front under Darragh O'Keeffe on the run around the home turn, still travelling well, and she quickly moved away from her rivals. She got in tight to the second last flight, but she was long and good at the last and she won impressively from Le Nez Creux. She was receiving 9lb from the runner-up, but that rival has a rating of 130 over fences, and the winning time was good, fastest by far of the four hurdle races run on the day and the only one that dipped below Racing Post standard.

This was another step forward by Eric McNamara's mare. She was impressive in winning her maiden hurdle over two and a half miles at Roscommon last month, and she was impressive again here, stepped up in grade. A sister to Dream On Baby, who won her maiden hurdle over two miles and seven furlongs, our of a mare who won over three miles on heavy ground and from the family of Wichita Lineman and Rhinestone Cowboy, she got stronger as the race developed, and she left the impression that she could do even better when she steps up in trip. She is only five and this was just her fourth run over hurdles, so she has plenty of scope for progression now, and she could improve again when she introduces more fluency to her jumping.
