Planet Of Sound

Planet Of Sound was impressive in landing a two-and-a-quarter-mile novices' chase at Newbury. Main market rival Sir Jimmy Shand didn't jump well on his chasing debut, but that shouldn't detract from the quality of the winner's performance. He jumped really well in front and had them stone cold from a long way out. This was a far better performance from the winner than the performance that he put up on his chasing debut at Sandown in early November, when he finished well behind Free World. The balance of his form suggests that he is better going left-handed than right. Specifically, he has now won twice and finished second once in three visits to Newbury. He was a decent novice hurdler last season and may not be that far below the top two-mile novice chasers at the end of this season.
