Look Busy
Look Busy ran on well to just get up and land a fillies' listed race over an extended five furlongs at Bath on Tuesday. Settled well of the pace in the early stages, she made ground two furlongs out and finished with a flourish to just get the better of a three-way photo from Crimson Fern and long-time leader Siren's Gift, both really useful sprinters, with another talented filly Angus Newz a length and a half back in fourth.
This was a most encouraging run for Alan Berry's filly. It was a long way for the trainer to travel, and he did say afterwards that he only came because the filly escaped a penalty for winning a Group 3 race last season. She is certain to come on for this run now. She was most progressive all the way through last season, and she has come on appreciably for her seasonal debut in both of her seasons racing. She handles soft ground as well as this good ground, and all of her nine wins now have been over five furlongs. She is in another fillies' listed race at Nottingham on Saturday, but that is over six furlongs and she has to carry a 4lb penalty, so she could be one to avoid in that. The race for her now is the Temple Stakes at Haydock on 23rd May. If she gets beaten on Saturday over six furlongs, she should be allowed go off at a decent price in the Temple Stakes, a Group 2 contest over five furlongs in which she won't have a penalty and in which she will be getting the 3lb fillies' allowance from the colts and geldings, and she could be a big player in it.
