Cybersnow

Cybersnow ran out a really impressive winner of the two-mile handicap at Galway on Saturday. Held up just behind the leaders in the early stages by Shane Foley, Seamus Fahey's gelding was always travelling sweetly just behind the pace. The only horse still on the bridle on the run down the hill towards the home turn, the only imponderable was whether or not he would find as much as it looked like he would. In truth, he probably found more. Tracking Monahullan Prince under a flat-to-the-boards Danny Mullins into the home straight, Foley just allowed Cybersnow ease into the lead on the crown of the bend before asking him to lengthen. Once he did, the response was impressive, and he came right away of his field up the hill to win, eased down, but a handicap-bursting 10 lengths. The handicapper gave him 14lb for this, which is a lot, but with which it is difficult to argue, and it brings him up to a mark of just 79, a mark off which he should still be able to win. This was just his second run of the season, his second run since joining Seamus Fahey, who seems to have found the key to him. He is in at Killarney next week, in a mile-and-six handicap, and he will be of interest there, where he won on his debut for Fahey. Also, his rating of 93 over hurdles looks lenient in the light of his two recent wins on the flat.
