Fix The Rib

Fix The Rib set out to make all in the good two-mile chase at Ascot last Saturday. He jumped really well in front, bar making one mistake going down into Swinley Bottom, and he looked to have them all stone cold rounding the home turn, but he began to tire from that point. He wasn’t helped by the attentions of the loose horse at the second last, and he was passed by Master Medic shortly afterwards. It is unlikely that the loose horse was the difference between winning and losing, as he was tiring at that point, but he came back a bit after the last, and was beaten by a really progressive exciting horse in Master Medic. He is still only six, he has run just five times over fences, and he was weak in the market before this race, so he should come on for it. He should be able to take the hike of 7lb with which he was rewarded in his stride.
