Treadwell

Treadwell ran well to finish second to Kaptain Kirkup in a good seven-furlong handicap at York on Wednesday. He travelled well just inside the ultimate winner through the early stages of the race, he couldn't get a run when Fergus Sweeney wanted to go, he had to sit and suffer a little as Kaptain Kirkup moved up to take up the running past Summerinthecity on the outside before he could get out after him. He picked up nicely once in the clear, but he was never going to catch the winner, the best horse on the day won the race. That said, Treadwell put up a most encouraging performance to finish second. He is not that lightly-raced, but Jamie Osborne's horses were in shocking form all last season, so you can probably put a line through the entire year, and Treadwell ran well on easy ground to finish third in a decent race at Salisbury on his reappearance. He is a big imposing horse, he should continue to improve now as a three-year-old, and he should be seen to even better effect on easier ground.
