Dever Dream
Dever Dream continued her progression with another impressive performance in a six-furlong handicap at Newmarket on Saturday. She travelled well out the back for Eddie Ahern, they were still last at the two-furlong marker, but she was the only horse still on the bridle at this stage. She picked up really well to challenge and head Flambeau inside the final furlong and although the winning margin was only a head, that probably flattered the runner-up, Dever Dream was value for a lot more.
Willie Haggas’s filly has now won four of her six starts, and there is no telling how high she could go. The form for this race looks solid, Flambeau is a useful yardstick, this was only her fourth start and she is another progressive type, the time for the race was good and the front two pulled clear. The daughter of Medicean finished third to Seta in a seven-furlong listed race at Warwick on her previous run, but six furlongs is probably her optimum for now. The handicapper has raised her 6lb to a rating of 96 and she is fully entitled to take another chance in listed company again.
