Internationaldebut
Internationaldebut ran an eye-catching race in a one-mile handicap at Chester last Sunday. He was slowly away, which leaves you with a mountain to climb at Chester, and Tony Culhane had to just sit and wait in behind the whole field. He was still last on the inside rail as they turned into the straight and he had to be pulled wide to get a run, finishing best of all. He was never going to get on terms with Kyllachy Star and Brae Hill, but he would have gone close with a better run through the race.
Paul Midgley’s gelding has won over a range of trips from five furlongs to nine furlongs, but he had been competing mainly over shorter distances so far this year. He has run well in defeat in most of his runs this term, and he was unlucky again here, he had nowhere to go as they came onto the straight, and he finished full of running in the end. The handicapper has left him alone for this and he will be interesting again if seen over this trip next time out.
