Jenari
Jenari looks certain to have a bright future after finishing a creditable second to the odds on favourite Waaheb in a two-mile bumper at Leopardstown on Sunday. There was a lot to like about the way Jessica Harrington’s horse settled off the slow early pace here on his racecourse debut and he was always travelling well for his rider Kate Harrington at the back of the field. He made stylish ground up to the leaders before the straight and he looked a big threat when he was able to head Dermot Weld’s horse at the two furlong pole, the pair of them quickening clear together. The favourite eventually found another gear to win a shade cosily in the end, and he was conceding a stone to the runner-up, taking the rider's claim into account, but this was a big performance from Jenari, a half-brother to Jered, and he looks like a smart prospect.
