Decrypt
Decrypt put up a really impressive performance to win the seven-furlong three-year-olds' contest. Strong in the market beforehand, Paddy Twomey's horse settled nicely in mid-division for Billy Lee through the early stages of the race. He travelled really well into the home straight, you could have called him as the most likely winner from a long way out. He moved up nicely in behind the leaders, still travelling well and, when his rider asked him to pick up, the response was impressive. He hit the front at the furlong marker and he came clear on Manjeer and Klute in impressive fashion.
A son of Dark Angel out of a Kodiac mare who won over five furlongs, this was just Decrypt's third race, and it was his seasonal debut. Second to subsequent listed race winner Indigo Balance on his racecourse debut in May last year, he stepped up on that next time when he won his maiden at The Curragh in June, beating subsequent maiden winner Invincible Karma and subsequent Moyglare Stud Stakes runner-up Lady Kaya into second and third places respectively. He didn't run again last season, but he was strong in the market here, and he holds an entry in the Irish 2000 Guineas, so he is obviously highly-regarded. He is not proven over a mile, but he finished off his race strongly here, so there is every chance that he will stay. This was just his third run, and there is obvious potential for more.
