Move Swiftly
Move Swiftly is not under the radar now, but she was really impressive in winning the Duke of Cambridge Stakes. Held up early on by Danny Tudhope, she did get the splits, the gaps opened up for her when she needed them to, but she travelled into her race like a high-class filly, she joined the front rank at the furlong marker, and she picked up well. She was strong enough in the finish to get the better of Rawdaa and I Can Fly.
This was William Haggas' filly's seasonal debut, and it was just her eighth run ever, and James Doyle rode her stable companion Pretty Baby instead, so there is every chance that she will improve for this. She was reportedly due to be covered in the spring, but that didn't work out, and there is every chance that she can progress now through the summer. She handles this easy ground well, and she stays a mile well. By Farhh and out of a half-sister to Katy Nowaitee, who won a Cambridgeshire over nine furlongs and a listed race over 10 on soft ground, she raced here like she could get further than this mile, and it is interesting that she held an entry in the Pretty Polly Stakes at The Curragh on Irish Derby weekend. She also holds an entry in the John Smith's Handicap at York next Saturday, a race in which she would be 3lb well-in under her 5lb penalty, so she would be obviously of interest if she took up her engagement in that race. She is also in the Nassau Stakes though, and the Matron Stakes and the Kilboy Estate Stakes. She could step up in grade now.
