Moon Of Love

Moon Of Love can be marked up a fair bit on the bare form of her run in the Hilary Needler Trophy. Richard Fahey's filly was well-drawn in stall two, and she was travelling well just behind the leader Lady Quickstep, but she got squeezed out of it badly at the 2f marker, just as Barry McHugh was asking her to pick up. She stumbled badly, she did well to stay on feet, and she did even better to pick up again from the 1f marker as she did. And she was hampered a little again by Rose Of Kildare, who was leaning in towards the inside. In the end, she did remarkably well to take third place.

This was her racecourse debut. She is obviously tough, and she will be of interest wherever she goes now. A £140,000 breeze-up filly by Kodiac and a half-sister to winners over all distances from 5f to 1m, she could be a filly with a future.
