East Of Eden
East Of Eden ran better than her finishing position in third place suggests in the six-furlong fillies' maiden. She was keen early on, but she moved nicely through her race after she settled. The leader Daily Times went for home at the two-furlong marker, and East Of Eden picked up nicely to get out after her. She might have caught her too had the eventual winner Miss Lucy not rolled in on top of her a little close home. She was short of room on the run to the winning line, and Ryan Moore had to ease off on her.
It was still a fine run by Hugo Palmer's filly on this, her racecourse debut. Sold by Greenhills Farm for €180,000 at the Arqana breeze-up sales in May, the Exceed And Excel filly should progress for this experience. She will do better when she learns to settle better, and she will be of interest wherever she goes next.
