Sinawann
Sinawann ran a fine race to finish second to Mogul in the Group 2 KPMG Champions Juvenile Stakes. He travelled well just behind the leaders along the inside, but there was no gap forthcoming early in the home straight, so Ronan Whelan had to take him out from behind the leaders. Mogul enjoyed an uninterrupted path down the outside and, while it never really looked like Sinawann would catch him, Michael Halford's horse kept on nicely down the outside to finish a clear second.
Winner of his maiden at The Curragh in August on his second run, this was another nice step forward from Sinawann. There was no disgrace in finishing second to Mogul, a full-brother to Japanwho beat Shekhem by three lengths to win his maiden and, while the winner was probably idling a little in front, the Aga Khan's colt did well to get as close to him as he did. A son of Kingman out of a half-sister to Sinndar, he stays a mile well and he should get further next year. He was under consideration for the Beresford Stakes at The Curragh last Sunday, and he will be of interest if he runs again before the end of the season.
