Indefatigable

Indefatigable should improve for stepping back up in trip now.  She was well beaten by Lady Buttons in the end in the listed mares' hurdle, she was flattered by the winning margin, the winner idled significantly on the run-in, but she was game in keeping on to finish second.  She never travelled through her race, she had a long look at the second flight when she was in front, and Gavin Sheehan was niggling her along from a long way out.  But she responded gamely to that pressure and, while it isn't certain that she would have been second either if Zambella hadn't fallen at the second last flight, she ran all the way to the line, leaving the impression that a stiffer stamina test would suit her.

Beaten just a neck by Lady Buttons in a Grade 2 contest over two miles at Doncaster last January, Paul Webber's mare finished a close-up fifth in the Dawn Run Mares' Novices' Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival, before going back to Cheltenham for their April meeting and winning a listed mares' novices' hurdle over two and a half miles.  That could prove to be her optimum distance now, and she will be of interest when she steps up to that trip again.
