Song For Someone
Song For Someone put up a good performance to finish second to a rejuvenated Thomas Darby in the Holloway's Handicap Hurdle. In front from early, he had all his rivals bar the winner in trouble as they raced around the home turn. He was unlucky to come up against Thomas Darby, back over hurdles after two defeats over fences, but he still kept on well to take second place behind Olly Murphy's horse, nicely clear of third-placed Jolly's Cracked It.
This was Song For Someone's 10th run over hurdles, but he is only five and he continues to progress. The form of his previous run at Sandown is working out well through Mack The Man and Protektorat, and this was another step forward from that. The handicapper raised him by 5lb to a mark of 154, but that mark should still be well within range. He holds an entry in the re-arranged Kingwell Hurdle at Kempton on Saturday, and he will be of interest if he takes his chance in that.
