Pronouncement
Pronouncement did well to keep on as well as she did to win the six-furlong fillies' maiden. Smartly away, Johnny Murtagh's filly was being niggled along a little by Ben Coen from early enough, but she travelled well into the lead at the two-furlong marker, and she stuck her head out willingly to repel the challenge of the 93-rated Na Blianta Beo, who traded at 1.01 in-running, the pair of them coming nicely clear of Gulf Of Aidan and Allez Allez Allez. She raced from stall seven, and she raced towards the far side early on, in a race in which the second, third and fourth were all drawn high, 16, 15 and 18 respectively.
It was a fine performance from the Declaration Of War filly. She progressed in four runs last season, putting up her best performance on her last run of the season, stepped up to seven furlongs for the first time, when she finished a close-up third behind Blissful and Nurse Barbara in a listed race at Leopardstown on Irish Champions' Weekend in September. She was reported lame after that race, and this was her first run since, so she should progress from this. She could do better too stepped up again to seven furlongs.
