Cayenne Pepper

Cayenne Pepper put up a very satisfactory performance in finishing second in the Pretty Polly Stakes.  It was her seasonal debut, her first run since she finished fourth in the Fillies' Mile at Newmarket last October, and she wasn't helped by getting checked as they left the back straight, and stumbling a little.

She was well beaten by Magical, but Magical is one of the best fillies that we have seen in a while, and she kept on well for Shane Foley to withstand the challenge of Fleeting for the runner-up spot.  She reportedly had an interrupted spring, she was just ready to start back here, and she is expected to come on for the run.  Jessica Harrington's filly was a progressive and talented filly last season, she won her first three races, including the Group 3 Flame Of Tara Stakes, but she may have been a little under the radar as the limelight was taken by her stable companions, fellow juvenile fillies, Albigna, Alpine Star and Millisle.  This should bring her forward, and she could be a big player in the Irish Oaks.
