Kaeso

Kaeso ran well for a long way in the Class 2 seven-furlong handicap. Weak in the market beforehand, he was smartly away and he was up in the front rank from flagfall, in a race that was run at a fast pace, with the winner and runner-up both coming from midfield. Kaeso faded from the furlong marker, leaving the impression that he would be better with this run under his belt. This was his first run since last July, and he has never gone well fresh in the past, he has always been a horse who has needed his seasonal debut. His record on his debut reads 9059, while his record on his second run of the season reads 9112. This was his first run ever on an all-weather surface too.

Nigel Tinkler's horse has had plenty of racing, but his last two runs last season were up there with the best of his career. He will be of interest wherever he goes next, but his best runs have been at Ascot, Doncaster at Chester, so he will be of particular interest if and when he races at one of those tracks. He goes well on good and on good to soft ground, and he is probably better over seven furlongs, or seven and a half furlongs at Chester, than he is over a mile.
