One Voice

One Voice was unlucky in the Group 2 Kilboy Estate Stakes.  She travelled well for Shane Foley the whole way, on the inside.  The field didn't thin out though in the home straight, and the gaps just didn't appear. Crotchet kept going in front, and Shane Foley never got the opportunity to unleash One Voice's turn of foot.  When he was eventually able to get her out and into the clear, she picked up well through the final 50 yards, leaving the impression that she had plenty of energy left, and that she would have gone close to winning had she had a clear run.

Winner of her maiden at Leopardstown last July on the second of her two runs at two, Jessica Harrington's filly was just nutted by her stable companion Silence Please in the Salsabil Stakes on her debut this season, but she stepped forward from that next time when she won the Group 3 Blue Wind Stakes at Leopardstown.  Held up that day, she showed a fine turn of foot to hit the front inside the furlong pole, and she kept on well to beat Snow by half a length, the pair of them nicely clear.  Snow enhanced that form when she won the Munster Oaks next time, and she ran well for a long way in the Irish Oaks.

One Voice's dam won over a mile and a half, but she has lots of pace, and these hold-up tactics probably suit her well.  This was just her fifth run, so she has plenty of potential for progression, and she will be of interest wherever she goes next.
