Four Blondes
Four Blondes showed a lot of pace on the far side in the six-furlong two-year-olds' median sires' series maiden at The Curragh on Saturday, but she was just a little keener than ideal early on, and that probably took its toll in the end. She picked up well to hit the front on the far side of runners at the furlong marker, at which point she looked a likely winner, she reached a low of 1.11 in-running. In the end, however, Noel Meade's newcomer Letherfly, who had been nibbled at in the market late on and who could be very talented herself, finished off well and won a little cosily.
Four Blondes had been keen before, but this was probably the best of her four runs, and she should do even better when she learns to settle better. Ross O'Sullivan's filly is obviously pacey though, she is out of a mare whose four wins were gained over six furlongs. She handles this soft ground well, and she will be of interest if she races over five or six furlongs on this soft ground before the end of the season.
