Serialise
Serialise can be marked up at least a little on the bare form of her run in the seven-furlong handicap at The Curragh on Friday evening. She just got checked in her run when she wanted to get out as the ultimate winner Back Down Under came past. Dropped back to seventh or eighth at that point, she picked up well once in the clear, and she finished off her race strongly for Nathan Crosse to take second place, beaten just a head.
This drop down from a mile to seven furlongs was fine for Jessica Harrington's filly, but she won her maiden over a mile, and it may be that a mile suits her a little bit better. She came under a ride early enough here. Either way, this was just her fourth run so she should improve for it. A 2lb hike from the handicapper is fine, and she will be of interest now in another handicap off her new mark of 83. She holds an entry in a three-year-olds' handicap over seven and a half furlongs at Leopardstown next Thursday, and she will be of big interest if she lines up in that. Longer term, she could be a black-type filly.
