I think that Flooring Porter is the most likely winner of the Stayers’ Hurdle by a fair way, and it is worth backing him now at 7/2.

Gavin Cromwell’s horse is obviously quirky, but he was an impressive winner of the race last year, he won with way more in hand than the three-length winning margin.  He does need things to go his way, and we saw in the Christmas Hurdle at Leopardstown, when Klassical Dream led him early, he didn’t want to leave the rail in order to try to pass him in the home straight.  You can be sure that Danny Mullins will do all that he can to get him into the lead and, if he can do that without too much hassle, he will take a lot of catching.
