I think that I Like To Move It has a real chance of winning the Greatwood Hurdle.

A winner at Cheltenham’s October meeting and at Cheltenham’s November meeting last season, Nigel Twiston-Davies’ horse put up a career-best performance at Newbury last February when he finished second in the Betfair Hurdle.

He did well that day to go as close as he did, after racing prominently in a race in which the hold-up horses came to the fore.  He got a little out-paced when they quickened, but he stayed on really well up the run-in, just failing by a short head to get back up and collar Glory And Fortune.

The winner then went and finished fifth in the Champion Hurdle, while the third horse, First Street, finished second in the County Hurdle, and sixth-placed Knappers Hill has won four of his next five races, including the Grade 2 Elite Hurdle last time.

I Like To Move It hasn’t run since he finished down the field in the County Hurdle in March, but he goes well fresh, his record after a break of 50 days or more reads 1212.  We know that he goes well at Cheltenham, and at this time of year.  His record in October and November reads 1111, and he goes well on goodish ground.

He is only 4lb higher than he was in the Betfair Hurdle and, a five-year-old who has raced just six times over hurdles, he has the potential to continue his progression this season.
