Uncle Bert

Uncle Bert

18th-Jan-2025

Uncle Bert has not had a conventional run into this race, he was jumping fences earlier in the season.  But that didn’t really pan out for him, not yet, and he returned to hurdles last time at Aintree.

He ran well from what we could see there.  Prominent from early, he jumped the hurdles that we could see well, and he stayed on well to hold onto third place behind Red Dirt Road and Patriotik, just in front of Act Of Authority.

He is not especially lightly raced, but he was progressive last season over hurdles and, now back over the smaller obstacles, after getting his eye in last time, he could take another step forward today.  He goes well on soft ground and, out of a mare who won over two and a half miles, he is unexposed over staying trips.

UNCLE BERT WON (ADV 14/1, SP 10/1)
