Apercu

Apercu

19th-Apr-2025

My starting point here was to try to find reasons why Apercu was vulnerable, but I have concluded that she is the bet.

Andy Oliver’s mare is a really likeable mare.  She progressed nicely last season, in cheekpieces and blinkers, winning nicely on yielding ground at Naas in August, and ending her season with a fine performance to win a good handicap at The Curragh.

She showed a really good attitude that day to get back up and beat Fleetfoot, the pair of them clear.

The handicapper raised her by 5lb for that run to a mark of 87, and she put up a nice performance on her debut this season at The Curragh to finish fourth behind Indigo Five over a mile, leaving the imrpression that she would progress for the run.  A 1lb hike is fine, and she could take a nice step forward today.  Ten furlongs on easy ground is just about ideal for her, and she will have Billy Lee for company.

APERCU WON (ADV 4/1, SP 9/2)
