Cajole

Cajole

Bright Thunder was my starting point here, she has lots in her favour, but she is very short now and, at the prices, I prefer Cajole.

The Gosdens’ filly ran a big race in the Sandringham Handicap at the Royal meeting when she was drawn on the far side, but she switched to race on the near side, before switching back to the far side, which ultimately proved to be the right place to be.  In the end, she did well to finish second in a race in which the winner and third were drawn two and one respectively.

She has progressed since then too, she ran Blue Bolt to a length in a listed race over a mile at Sandown on Eclipse day, and she ran well for a long way in the Atalanta Stakes that Lady Of Spain won back at Sandown last time.  She proved that day that she could operate on soft ground, and she shaped as if a drop down in trip could help.

She could step forward again today, dropped down to seven furlongs for the first time since she made her racecourse debut over the trip.  She goes well on Ascot’s straight track, and she can operate on soft ground.

CAJOLE WON (ADV 7/1, SP 9/2)
