Dee Capo
22nd-Nov-2025
I am taking a chance on Dee Capo here.
He can be tricky, he can be all or nothing if things don’t go his way, but he is talented, as he proved when he stayed on strongly to win his beginners’ chase at Leopardstown’s Christmas Festival last December and, crucially, he will have his favoured soft ground.
He does go well at Leopardstown, but he ran well for a long way in the beginners’ chase that Ballyburn won at Punchestown last November. He was the only one who could get close to Ballyburn, and he ultimately paid for that, a mistake at the last accentuating the magnitude of the distance by which he was beaten. He ran way better than the bare form of the run suggests.
Gordon Elliott’s horses continue to be in really good form, and Jack Kennedy is obviously a big asset. Waterford Whispers is a big player, and I can see Talk In The Park going well, back a little in distance, but, at the prices, Dee Capo is the bet.
DEE CAPO WON (ADV 10/1, SP 12/1)
