Vaureal

30th-Nov-2025

I am backing Vaureal in the lady riders’ handicap chase.

Ian Donoghue’s horse put up a big performance in a lady riders’ race over today’s course and distance in April under Caragh Monaghan, when he was only just beaten by Read To Return.  He is 2lb lower today than he was then.  He ran well too in a handicap chase at Galway in October on his second run this season to finish second to Inthenickoftime.

He was well beaten last time back at Galway, but that was over two miles and six and a half furlongs, up Galway’s hill.  He should be happier today, back over two miles and five furlongs, and back at Fairyhouse.

He has run three times at Fairyhouse, and he has run well on all three occasions.  That’s key.  Also key is the fact that Ian Donoghue’s horses are in tremendous form.  He had a really good weekend at Navan on Troytown Chase weekend, he had another winner last Friday at Fairyhouse, Hitthehayson, and he won the mares’ handicap chase at Fairyhouse yesterday with True Testimony, while I A Connect ran a big race in the handicap hurdle, under Caragh Monaghan.

Caragh Monaghan, an All-Ireland-winning footballer with Meath, has ridden just one winner on the track so far, St Denis’s Well in a handicap hurdle at Navan the season before last, but she rides well, she gets on well with Vaureal and she claims 7lb.

VAUREAL WON (ADV 7/2, SP 7/2)
