Koktail Divin

I was hoping that Koktail Divin would be bigger, he does have 12lb to find with Lulamba on official ratings, but there is just enough in his price in my book.

Henry de Bromhead’s horse is a classy individual.  Out-stayed by Grand National aspirant Oscars Brother in the Florida Pearl Chase over three miles on soft ground at Punchestown in November, he was happier back over two miles and five and a half furlongs at Leopardstown next time, when he was seriously impressive in winning his beginners’ chase.  He came right away from Kiss Will, who was running a big race in the Irish Grand National on Monday when he came down at the third last fence.  He probably would have finished second.

Koktail Divin ran in the Brown Advisory Chase at Cheltenham last time, and he travelled best of all into the race before his stamina started to ebb over three miles and one furlong.  He should be happier back over the intermediate trip today and, over this trip, Darragh O’Keeffe can be as aggressive as he likes on him.  He jumps well and he races prominently, and he goes well on goodish ground. His style of racing is well suited to Aintree’s chase track.

KOKTAIL DIVIN WON (ADV 3/1, SP 3/1)
