Home By The Lee

11th-Apr-2026

The case for Home By The Lee needs hardly any explaining.  He is 11 now, but he is in the form of his life, as he proved when he won the Stayers’ Hurdle.  That is the best form in this race.  He finished almost seven lengths clear of Honesty Policy, and Honesty Policy is around one-third his price today.

Of more concern than his age is the fact that he has been pulled up in this race in each of his two attempts in it.  That is a big concern, because he is a quirky individual, and it may be that he just doesn't like Aintree.  There is also a chance, though, that he is on really good terms with himself these days and that he will run as well as he did at Cheltenham.  If he does, he will probably win, and it is well worth taking a chance on the course at the price.

HOME BY THE LEE WON (ADV 8/1, SP 5/1)
