Rahieeb
Rahiebb
I think that Amiloc is shorter than he should be in the Yorkshire Cup.
Of course, he is a big player in the race, he deserves to be favourite, but he was out-stayed by Al Riffa over this trip in the Irish St Leger last year, he has never run at York, and he will have bigger fish to fry later in the season. He improved significantly form his first run to his second in each of his two seasons racing to date ...
Rahiebb is just a really likeable horse who progressed all through last season as a three-year-old. He is proven over the distance and he ran well on his only run at York.
Third behind Carmers and Further in the Queen’s Vase at Royal Ascot, beaten three parts of a length and a head, he improved from that on his final run last season, when he finished second in the St Leger. In so doing, he reversed places with Carmers and with Further, and he got to within a neck of Scandinavia. He came under a ride early that day, but he stuck to his task well and finished off his race strongly.
He won on his debut last season, and the Roger Varian team are in really good form these days. He could make up into one of the top stayers this season, and this is a great starting point for him, with lots in his favour.
