La De Two
La De Two looked impressive in winning a Class 2 12-furlong handicap at York on Friday on his handicap debut, staying on well to get the better of the progressive Emerging Artist, despite showing shades of greenness, which was perfectly understandable given that this was just the third race of his life. He has obviously had problems that have limited his appearances, but he is also obviously talented, and he should come on for this, his first run since last November, and for the experience. He was weak in the market beforehand, and he flashed his tail a little when he came under pressure, but it didn’t stop him going forward and he came right away to post an impressive victory.
The runner-up is obviously useful as well, he is progressive, and the pair of them finished clear of some useful handicappers like Cosmic Sun and Crackentorp, but La De Two beat him well and he is a fairly exciting prospect now as long as he remains sound. Beaten just a length by the subsequently high class Kite Wood in a Doncaster maiden on soft ground on his only run as a juvenile, when he had Monitor Closely and Golden Sword behind him, La De Two won a Wolverhampton maiden by eight lengths last November on his only run at three. He has the potential to progress considerably now, he is a big scopey individual, and he could prove to be very good indeed. The winner is bred to for stamina, a son of Galileo out of a Darshaan mare, and he might be even better over further. He could even be good enough to be a Cup horse next year, and he could be good enough to contest some of the top staying races later this season.
