Blessed Biata

Blessed Biata put up a highly encouraging display on just her second ever start in the Tattersalls Millions Two-Tear-Old Fillies’ Trophy at Newmarket on Saturday. Having initially raced out the back in the far side group (where the first three home raced), she was forced to switch to the disadvantaged centre of the track around two furlongs out and found herself briefly short of room entering the final furlong before running on strongly to finish on the heels of the leaders. She was quite green in the middle part of the race when forced to switch but she got the hang of things late on and the experience from this big field and quite messy race should not be lost on her.

Blessed Biata is a half-sister to two German Guineas winners and is bred for longer than the seven furlongs of this race, a point that was reinforced by her strong finish here, which bodes well for next year. She should be winning her maiden soon, and she could well be a decent filly next year.
