Ceilidhs Dream

Ceilidhs Dream did well to win the second division of the 1m three-year-old fillies’ maiden. Weak in the market beforehand, she missed the break, she was fully 2l behind the second last filly through the first couple of hundred yards, but she travelled well in rear, and she moved up nicely on the near side from the 3f marker when Louis Steward took her to the near side. She quickened up well to join the front rank. It looked like the favourite, newcomer Sea Of Class, was holding her on the run to the line, but Ralph Beckett’s filly battled well up the hill to get up and win by a neck from a highly-regarded newcomer, the pair of them coming 4l clear in a race that was run in a time that was faster than the time of the first division of this contest. Ceilidhs Dream was slowly away too on her only previous run, in a 1m fillies’ novice stakes at Kempton last November. She should improve for this experience, her first run since, and she should do even better when she can learn to get away on terms. Her dam won a listed race over 10f and she left the impression here that she should get that trip.
