Dream Of Dreams

Dream Of Dreams ran a big race to finish third in the Group 3 Hackwood Stakes. Held up at the rear of the field early on, he travelled well through his race and he weaved his way through to deliver a challenge. He looked a big threat to Yafta and Projection, but he shipped a bump from Mythmaker just as he was starting to pick up and, while he ran on all the way to the line, he just couldn’t get to the two leaders.

It was a big run from Sir Michael Stoute’s colt, and it continued his forward progression. He is a winner over 6f and 7f, but he showed at Sandown on his previous run against Judicial and Muthmir that he could travel up well at 5f pace. A stiff 5f could be optimum for him on this evidence, ideally on easy ground. His record on ground that is good to soft or softer reads 21211, and he probably put up a career-best at Doncaster last November in winning a listed race on the only occasion on which he has raced on soft ground. He will be of particular interest when the ground eases as we move into the autumn.
