Crystal Ocean is a top class performer, and while he has not yet won at Group 1 level, he has only had three attempts, and he has finished second on each occasion.  He was only beaten a neck by Poet’s Word in the King George last year.

We know that he goes well at Ascot, he handles easy ground well, and he is probably as good over 10 furlongs as he is over a mile and a half, as he demonstrated when he danced in at Sandown in the Gordon Richards Stakes on his debut this season.  Of course, this is a different class entirely, but he goes into the race on a high, he has won the two races this year that he won last year before he went to Royal Ascot and won the Hardwicke Stakes impressively.
