Eleazor Des Neiges

Eleazar Des Neiges put up a good performance to finish second to Rebel Early in the two-and-a-half-mile Adare Manor Opportunity Handicap Hurdle. Sent to the front from flagfall by Hugh Morgan, he jumped well through the fog, he had a clear break on the rest of the field for most of the race. He kicked off the home turn and looked set for victory when he jumped the second last well, but Rebel Early just wore him down close home to get up and beat him by two and a half lengths, the pair of them clear.

It was a good run by Henry de Bromhead’s horse, he travelled like the best horse in the race for most of the way, and he only gave best late on to a decent mare who was far more experienced. He should benefit from this run, just his fourth run over hurdles, and he has a nice progressive profile. A 4lb hike is not harsh, his new mark of 123 should be well within range.
