Hightimeyouwon

Hightimeyouwon did well to win the six-furlong maiden.  Just behind the pace early on from his high draw in stall 13, he travelled well through his race, but he had to check at the two-furlong marker as his run was blocked, and move inside.  He ended up delivering his challenge on the far side, probably on the worst of the ground, but he battled on well for Oisin Orr to get the better of Zephron, with Papa Bear finishing well down the near side to take second place.

It was a fine performance by Dermot Weld’s horse on his seasonal debut.  Unraced as a juvenile, he was placed in three of his four runs last year, and he hadn’t run since he finished second to Arabeska in a maiden at Gowran Park last June.  Gelded in the interim, this was a good start to the season for the Newtown Anner Stud’s horse and, with the Dermot Weld horses just getting going now, he should be able to build on it, and he could improve again for a step back up to seven furlongs.
